What types of Notifications can be sent to residents via the Manager's Portal?

This will depend on the systems you have installed.

The Manager's Portal lets you send notifications to individuals, a group, or all residents.  Depending on the systems installed, they may display on screen, or be read aloud. The table below indicates whether notifications and alerts can be sent to the devices in your village.

* IPD read aloud message length is limited to 196 characters.  Notifications longer than that will be truncated when read aloud, but the full notification can be read onscreen.

** LGX read aloud message length is limited to 106 characters.

† LifeGuard SmartMobile read aloud message length is limited to 199 characters. Notifications on LifeGuard SmartMobile app may only be read aloud when the app is open. Evacuation Alerts on Android devices are treated as high priority and will be read aloud whether the app is open or not. Depending on permission settings, iOS devices may only show a system notification, however when the user taps the notification to open the app it can be read aloud.

‡ Depending on battery settings, the LifeGuard SmartWatch may not read notifications aloud immediately, but will check for notifications every four hours. Evacuation Alerts will be sent right away, however depending on battery settings, they may be standard SMS messages rather than in-app notifications, and thus may not be read aloud.
