What happens if my power goes out?

The In-Home Personal Alarms that are provided by INS LifeGuard all comply with Australian Standards AS 4607 and therefore have a backup battery that if fully charged will continue to power your Alarm for 38+ hours.

While connected to mains power, your personal alarm will continue to charge and will run battery cycles to keep the battery working well and at an optimal level. These alarms are designed to be plugged into power and continue to charge constantly. INS recommends you keep the unit plugged in at all times to ensure the battery is always fully charged. That way, if there is a power outage and you need assistance, your Personal Alarm will be ready for you to use.

The Mobile Based personal alarms that are provided by INS LifeGuard vary in battery length, but are all designed to be used when out and about and not connected to mains power.

If you are concerned that your battery is not lasting as long as it should, or you have had issues, please contact INS LifeGuard on 1800 636 226 and we can investigate and see if any issues are also showing on our end for you.
