Using your In-Home Alarm - what happens when I press HELP?

This guide explains what happens when you activate the HELP button on your SmartHome LGX, your SmartLink Medi-Guardian MKII or your pendant.

You can raise an alarm via:

  • HELP button
  • Wrist/neck pendant
  • Call Point

The unit beeps for 10 seconds and then begins sending the alarm. During the first 10 seconds you can cancel by pressing the cancel button.

If the Alarm is not cancelled:

  • Alarm is sent after a 10 second countdown.
  • INS LifeGuard receives the Alarm and will be able to access your File.
  • Our Nurses will call back over the alarm system to check on you.

A nurse will then:

  • Speak to you through the unit
  • Assess the situation
  • Call emergency services if required
  • Notify your contacts as needed
If you cannot respond, or the Nurse is unable to verify that everything is alright, they will follow safety procedures including:
  • Attempting to contact you again via the alarm system or the contact numbers provided
  • Dispatching emergency services
  • Contacting your emergency contacts and/or Village
