# Why does my LifeGuard SmartTracker only tell me the time?

To trigger an Alarm via the LifeGuard SmartTracker you need to push and hold the SOS button on the front for 2-3 seconds. Upon successful activation of the Alarm the SmartTracker will announce that an SOS alarm has been activated, push SOS to cancel.

If you do not hold the SOS button in for long enough, or just push it briefly, it will announce the current time for you. 

If you believe that the time required to be held in is too long for you or your loved one, please contact INS LifeGuard on **1800 636 226** and discuss it with us, as we may be able to help adjust some settings, or provide alternative solutions that may be better suited.
