How your SmartHome LGX behaves during a power failure or low-battery situation
The SmartHome LGX will keep working during a power failure thanks to its internal battery. This guide explains what to expect.
When mains power fails
The unit will:
- Switch to internal battery
- Flash the green LED
- Announce: “Power failure, check power cord.”
Battery runtime
- Typically 38+ hours on a full charge
- Higher usage reduces runtime
When power returns
You’ll hear: “Power restored.”
The unit automatically starts to recharge the battery.
Low-battery warnings
At ~20% remaining, expect:
- Flashing orange fault light
- Possible voice prompts
- Warning sent to INS LifeGuard
Important
Ensure the battery switch, located next to where the power cord is plugged in, is ON or it will not charge.
