Quick Installation Guide
1. Remove SmartLink and power supply from the box.
Find a suitable location to place the MKII. There must be a power point easily accessible. Do not choose a damp location, such as a bathroom, or near any heat source, such as an oven or stove top.
2. Unscrew the back compartment and plug the power cord into the power jack as shown below.
Press the cord into one of the slots as shown below so it lays flat behind the unit.
3. Replace the back cover, and insert the plug into a power point. Turn the power point on.
4. If supplied, screw the antenna into the terminal at the back of the unit.
5. Turn the unit on via the switch on the back and wait for the SmartLink to announce 'Unit Disarmed'.
See below switch indicated by red arrow.
Note: It may take up to six minutes to make this announcement.
6. The pendant or wrist transmitter should have already been pre-configured by INS.
If not, please contact INS for assistance in programming the transmitter.
Perform a test by pushing the button on the transmitter. Walk around to various
rooms and test again to identify any limitations within the client’s home.
Note: it is not always possible to receive a signal in every location in the home as local interference plays a role in the transmission of the device.
7. When you test the transmitter, the unit will announce that your call is being connected. You’ll hear multiple beeps when it is received.
Please wait for an INS operator to call back over the unit and address the client via loudspeaker. Clearly state your name and that you are testing. Should voice contact fail, the operator will attempt to call via the landline or mobile number.
If you do not receive a call, please contact INS LifeGuard on 1800 636 226.
8. Once the unit has tested successfully, please test daily for the first week, then monthly thereafter.
